Dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Ivan Shishkin Yelabuga • 8-17 June, 2012
In order to attract public attention to the Russian history and Russia's role in the world historical process the year 2012 is announced a year of Russian history by the President of Russian Federation D.A.Medvedev.
The Republic of Tatarstan possesses the richest historical and cultural heritage. The representatives of various people, with different customs and ways of life live here for many centuries in the full harmony. Yelabuga takes the special place by representing a striking example of harmonious coexistence of the most different cultures and faiths.
Yelabuga is a beautiful city with a thousand-year history, a wonderful example of unity of various cultures and ancient traditions. Our city traditionally is a place of creative dialogue of artists, poets, young talents. Not casually Yelabuga is named a source of inspiration and Mecca for artists. The greatest painter and graphic artist I.I.Shishkin was born and has grown here. In Yelabuga one can feel a special atmosphere of culture, spirit of olden time and beauty.
Annually Yelabuga attracts representatives of creative intellectuals to establish professional contacts and exchange of experience. The big role in it plays Yelabuga State Museum Preservation, which constantly enlarges the sphere of the activity by developing and realizing new creative projects.
Art projects which have got the international status since 2010 are of great importance among them. During the last years art symposiums took part more than 200 artists from 13 countries of the world: Turkey, Scotland, Egypt, China, India, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Russia.
From 8th till 17th of June, 2012 Yelabuga State Museum Preservation conducts the VII-th International art-symposium «The Lullaby», devoted to the 180th anniversary of I.I.Shishkin. The symposium aims disclosing of an actual and important theme in the modern world: world of the childhood, good, ideas of humanism in the fine arts.
Lullabies which exist among all nations are not just an element of folklore and serve not only for lulling a child. They play an important role in development of the child's thinking. On what songs were sung to the child by mother, depends the character of the little person and its physical health. The childhood theme will be displayed in works of participants of the VII-th International art symposium «The Lullaby».
The purpose of the VII-th International art symposium «The Lullaby» is the statement of cultural traditions of a family, as important component of national consciousness in the modern fine arts, the popularization of ethnic folklore in painting and graphic art of modern Russian and foreign masters.
— To invite artists from different regions of Russia and abroad for participation in the VII-th International art symposium «The Lullaby», devoted to the 180th anniversary of I.I.Shishkin.
— Acquisition of Yelabuga State Museum-preservation funds by works of artists-participants of the VII-th International art symposium «The Lullaby», devoted to the 180th anniversary of I.I.Shishkin.
— Formation of a travelling exhibition composed of participants' of the VII-th International art symposium works.
— The edition of the catalog and the creation of the VII-th International art symposium «The Lullaby» video version.
During the symposium artists should create 1-2 pieces depending on the creativity. Works can be performed in painting (canvas, acrylic, oils) or graphics (unique graphics, print graphics).
Artists will be provided with ready canvases (for painting, the size is no more than 100 х 100 cm) and paper (for the graphics, no more than 2 sheets of Whatman paper).
Paints, brushes, arts, cutters and printing forms participants bring themselves.
Obligations of the parties
1. Obligations of organizers:
— to provide the equipped accommodation for carrying out of the symposium;
— to prepare canvases and a paper by application of the participant;
— to provide easels and chairs for work;
— to provide hotel accommodation and three meals a day;
— to hold a meeting; teachers and students of Kama institute of Art and Design, Yelabuga school of Culture and Arts, the directors of Yelabuga's schools of Art and representatives of mass-media will attend a meeting;
— to carry out one-day seminar (day of workshops) for teachers of art institutes, colleges and art schools of Tatarstan Republic within the limits of a symposium;
— the organizers, if necessary, can provide the translation into English, Turkish, German languages for foreign participants during activities of the symposium program;
— to organize a cultural program for participants of the symposium;
— to organize the exhibition in the Exhibition hall of Yelabuga State Museum Preservation on the termination of symposium;
— to publish an album-catalog of works created during the VII International art symposium «The Lullaby. Bishek zhyry» and give one copy to the participant gratuitously.
2. Obligations of participants:
— to transfer all works created during the symposium to the possession of Museum Preservation gratuitously and to transfer exclusive rights to the Museum Preservation for the further use, reproduction and the publication of these works;
— to provide the information, the digitized photos of the works created at the symposium, the detailed description of works (material, technics, tools, the size, the year of creation) for the publication on web sites, in catalogs, in presentations and other information-advertizing materials;
— to take a personal participation in activities, organized within the scope of the VII-th International art symposium program «The Lullaby»;
— transportation costs, tools and materials (brushes, paints, printing forms) at the expense of the arriving party.
— in the VII-th International art symposium «the Lullaby. Bishek zhyry» can take part only the participants invited by organizers (after giving of the questionnaire–demand);
— persons interested in participation, members of participants' families can contact the organizers about the possibility of staying at a symposium at own expense;
— the participant doesn't have the right to demand any indemnification or compensation for participation in the exhibition and activities organized by its program, and also for an exposition of the works and/or for use in catalogues, on sites, in information-advertising materials of the VII-th International art symposium «The Lullaby».

Terms and carrying out conditions
The VII-th International art-symposium «the Lullaby. Bishek zhyry», devoted to the 180th anniversary of I.I.Shishkin will be held from June 8 till June 17, 2012.
Payment for accommodation and meals, cultural program, providing easels, canvases and paper are at the expense of organizers.
Transport charges to Yelabuga back are at the expense of the arriving party.
The application form for participation is accepted until May, 20 2012. By the application should be attached 4-5 photos in an electronic version with the image of author's works of different subject areas.
The selected participants will be informed and officially invited for participation in the VII-th International art symposium «The Lullaby».
