Yelabuga is the largest tourist center of the Republic of Tatarstan, a city with a thousand years of history. Finno-Ugric, Turkic and Slavic peoples who lived here formed a powerful fusion of ancient cultures that formed the basis for the modern harmonious coexistence of different ethnic groups and religions. Yelabuga belongs to the few cities in Russia, where the old greatness of the merchant town of the XIX century was well preserved.

Every year it attracts intellectuals to work, to establish professional contacts and exchange of experience. Important role in this process is played by Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve, which each year is expanding its activities by developing and realizing new projects.
